WORLD SERIES GAME TWO IN TAMPA
After Winning the Gillette Rookie Reporter Showdown Clay headed to Tampa to Cover Game 2 of the World Series. “It was such a great experience. It started by being on the field several hours before the game. I had the opportunity to interview and meet several ESPN anchors (Peter Gammons, Harold Reynolds, Dick Vitale to name a few). I got an behind the scenes look of everything. Attending the press conferences for both teams. I was interviewed by Major League Baseball about my experience and also conducted an interview with 1975 Rookie of the Year and MVP Fred Lynn. After interviewing on the field, I headed into the stands to interview a lot of fans from both teams. I even had a girl ask me for a picture saying “Hey your the Gillette Rookie Reporter, I saw you on the internet.” That was hilarious! After doing around 3 hours of interviews I got to watch the game with my 2 brothers. Thanks to everyone who made this opportunity possible. It is something I will never forget.

WINNING THE COMPETITION
FROM WRIGLEY FIELD TO THE WORLD SERIES
It all started by attending a game at Wrigley Field in early July. A lady asked me if I wanted an opportunity to go the World Series. I had to tryout to be a reporter in front of a camera, while reading a script. I tried my best to add some jokes and I left the park not thinking anything about it. About a month later I was contacted saying I had been selected as 1 of 48 national finalists in the Gillette Rookie Reporter Showdown.
I was 1 of 4 candidates to represent the Chicago Cubs. In early August I went back to Chicago to shoot some commercial spots for Gillette that were aired on the internet and during Chicago Cubs games. (PICS BELOW) From their it was a 3 week long internet voting contest to select the Winner. It is still seems unreal at all the support I received. Thanks to everyone who voted. It is an opportunity I will never forget.
